Peter Akinola: Williams in showdown with US bishops

Archbishop Peter Akinola, the primate of Nigeria, who has led the developing world campaign.., extended his previous demands by insisting that the Americans must undo Bishop Robinsons election.,,2172323,00.html

It seems we should leaven the comments from well meaning white americans most of whom are still within ECUSA with that from an actual Global South leader, beloved by God.

Sinner, while at your posted URL, I noticed a picture with a activist clergyman wearing the usual support perversion activist rainbow ribbon. The caption used to support the picture states:

“An Anglican clergyman wears a rainbow ribbon in support of gays and lesbians in the church”.

Today, and in generations past, the beauty of the rainbow has been co-opted, and perverted.

    I’m taking back the rainbow!
I see that one of the “Rainbow Sash” threads got updated today, and I was wondering if I was the only one a little upset that the rainbow, a beautiful creation of God, has been co-opted by a group that is trying to bend the Catholic Church to its own agenda.

I made a new ribbon bookmark for my Christian Prayer; it has ribbons of all colors of the rainbow (in the right order); I hope nobody who sees it thinks I’m in support of the Rainbow Sash movement.

In any event, I wish to restore the rainbow to its rightful place. Here are the Bible verses that mention the rainbow:

    Genesis 9:13-16

I will set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be the sign of a covenant between me, and between the earth. And when I shall cover the sky with clouds, my bow shall appear in the clouds: And I will remember my covenant with you, and with every living soul that beareth flesh: and there shall no more be waters of a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the clouds, and I shall see it, and shall remember the everlasting covenant, that was made between God and every living soul of all flesh which is upon the earth.

    Ezekiel 1:26:28

And above the firmament that was over their heads, was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of the sapphire stone, and upon the likeness of the throne, was a likeness as of the appearance of a man above upon it. And I saw as it were the resemblance of amber as the appearance of fire within it round about: from his loins and upward, and from his loins downward, I saw as it were the resemblance of fire shining round about. As the appearance of the rainbow when it is in a cloud on a rainy day: this was the appearance of the brightness round about. (from Ezekiel’s vision of God)

    Sirach 43:12

Look upon the rainbow, and bless him that made it: it is very beautiful in its brightness.

    Rev 4:1-3

After these things I looked, and behold a door was opened in heaven, and the first voice which I heard, as it were, of a trumpet speaking with me, said: Come up hither, and I will shew thee the things which must be done hereafter. And immediately I was in the spirit: and behold there was a throne set in heaven, and upon the throne one sitting. And he that sat, was to the sight like the jasper and the sardine stone; and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

    Rev 10:1

And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud, and a rainbow was on his head, and his face was as the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire.

Who would have thunk it. Today we have clergy and Bishops, whos duty is to uphold the Scriptures of the Bible—now supporting vile affections. This clergyman supports the Devil, and his wicked ways.
He and other church representatives wear this symbol from God not to remind people of God’s promises, but to remind people of their support of perverted acts by man. They have reinvented God’s rainbow(revisionism). They are mocking God!

Harmon says it is these problems that have pushed the Episcopals to play “like Monte Hall ‘Let’s Make a Deal’” in a desperate attempt to hold the crumbling denomination together:
