A Letter from Bishop Benjamin Kwashi in Jos, Nigeria

Dear Friends,

Peace and greetings. This note comes with much gratitude to God for the brothers and sisters from all around the world that God has given to me in my life. Last night God opened my eyes to see and I saw that the host of the army of those on their knees on our behalf far outnumber, beyond mathematical equations, the number of those who wish us harm. We have been surrounded by love, support and prayers. I had a good laugh at myself when I just sat down and thought about my life. When I was growing up I was the subject of prayer as my mother prayed very hard for me to be converted and committed to Jesus Christ. When I gave my life to Christ and became born again I became the subject of prayer, and after ordination those praying for me increased beyond family to the church, the nation and around the world. My life and that of my family seems to be in constant danger and inviting the prayers of the Church of God around the world. Maybe I should get into more trouble ….. !!!!

The testimony of all of the recent happenings is the miraculous healing that the prayer of the church has brought upon Gloria, myself, the children and the entire diocese. Her recovery is remarkable. The head injuries are limited to skin level; the scan shows no damage internally. The dizziness that has lingered on for three days is greatly reduced and she is able to stand on her feet and even take a few steps to the bathroom without any assistance. The feeble knees are regaining strength even though they still ache. The surgery on her body and other parts was a huge success. She is healing steadily and she was able to sit down to take Holy Communion last night. Her speech is restored even though it is a bit slow and weak. We shared jokes yesterday and she had a great time of laughter. This is all as a result of the prayers of the church (I am reminded of the Transformation 1 video of George Ortis). The prayer of the Church is the biggest asset and heritage of the saints. We register gratitude to God for your lives and the sacrifice you make in prayer in our behalf. We are praying for you that our sufferings and specifically the humiliation, blood, tears and pains of Gloria may result in a great revival that will bring tremendous glory to God and to the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

We have done assessments of the damages done to the home and the office. There is need for us to replace several doors , windows, furniture and carpets because not only did they try to dehumanize Gloria, they also caused a lot of damage to property in the home. They made away with 150,000 naira belonging to the Christian Institute, about a thousand pound sterling cash which was in the office, more than 20,000 naira belonging to Gloria, Rinji and sundry, and about another 60,000naira from the office and office personell. These losses we count as nothing:

Yet whatever gains I had, these I have come to regard as loss because of Christ. More than that, I regard everything as loss because of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and I regard them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but one that comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God based on faith. I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the sharing of his sufferings by becoming like him in his death, if somehow I may attain the resurrection from the dead. (Phil 3:7-10)

The security agencies are working very hard to unravel the mystery of who wants me dead and why. We request that you pray for them that God will bring to light whatever was done or hidden in the darkest places. We further request that this incident will bring to fulfillment in our lives Romans 8:28 (We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose), and that through us to the Diocese and the world.

We ask for prayers for Gloria’s total healing and recovery in mind, body, soul and spirit. This is the much for now. We will keep you posted.

The Lord be with you,

+Ben Jos

I admire the courage and boldness of Bishop Kwashi.

The Lord will surely soothe and heal the wounds of the faithful.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower the righteous run to HIM for cover.

The perpertrators of this dastard act will be caught and punished. The only saving Grace is for them to own-up, confess and repent.

    God save the Church.
