Election of the second Bishop of Embu Diocese, Kenya


The Anglican Church of Kenya announces the elction of the Rev. Henry T.N. Kathii on Saturday 29th April, 2006 as the second Bishop of Embu Diocese, to succeed Bishop Moses Njue who retires on 30th June 2006 on medical grounds.
Rev. Henry Kathii is married to Susan Gatavi and are blessed with three grown up children aged between 29 and 25 years.  Henry has been a devout christian since 1968 when his salvation journey with Christ began.
Henry is a graduate in three fields of study namely; Commerce, Leadership and Theology with certificates in Management skills.
He was ordained to diaconate in 1989 and priested in 1990.  Henry has and continues to serve in numerous capacities within the church, para-church organizations and in learning institutions.  Amongst them is that of being the Anglican Church of Kenya Clerical Secretary to the Provincial Synod and its Standing Committee since 1998 as well as the Diocesan Synod of Embu since 1990 to date.
Henry has served consistently in leadership positions with the church, various para-church bodies and with the corporate society and hence will bring in a wealth of experience into the Diocesan leadership as a visionary caster.
The service of Consecration and Enthronment to commission Henry will take place on Sunday 2nd July, 2006 at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Embu.  The service begins at 10.00 a.m.
